Your Team Responsibilities

• The Data Collection and Processing Platform is an internal MSCI ESG platform.
• The platform serves as a critical data provider for client-facing applications and is utilized by:
  • MSCI ESG researchers to develop ESG models aligned with regulations, industry, and market-specific needs.
  • MSCI data operations teams to populate the product with ESG-specific data.
  • MSCI analysts to create, validate, and refine ESG reports for external clients using the platform's data and models.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Work extensively on the CI/CD pipeline in Azure DevOps, leveraging Azure infrastructure services.
• Contribute to projects using technologies such as Jruby, Python, Oracle, and ExtJS (with a focus on Ruby, Oracle, and Python).
• Focus areas include:
  • Platform enhancements.
  • Redesigns related to the Data Collection and Processing Platform, Capture, and OMDP.

Your Skills and Experience to Excel

Technical Skills (Hard Skills)

Must-Have:

• Proficiency in Ruby (excluding Rails), Sinatra.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and GIT.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL query writing, database optimization techniques, and schema optimization (Oracle/Redis).
• Expertise in performance optimization and caching strategies.
• Competency in JavaScript/ExtJS.

Good-to-Have (or willingness to learn):

• Python.
• Databricks.
• AI-related technologies.
• Experience with cloud services.

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
• Take full ownership of assigned features from development to deployment, aligning with sprint Definition of Done.
• Understand the MSCI Capture platform and related technologies.
• Conduct end-to-end development and testing.
• Make decisions independently when necessary.
• Comprehend and address the problem statements outlined in Jira tickets.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Estimate project scope accurately.
• Conduct unit tests, Jira testing, integration testing, load testing (if applicable), and regression testing before production releases.
